Fall is settling into Cranberry Township, and there's a lot on the calendar this month worth knowing about — whether you're looking for a fun weekend outing or just want to stay in the loop on what's going on around town.
16066 BBQ Bash — Saturday, September 19
The second annual 16066 BBQ Bash returns to the Armstrong Great Lawn at the Municipal Center (2525 Rochester Road) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event's centerpiece is a rib cook-off, judged by a panel of Township officials and invited guests, with barbecue available for purchase from local vendors including Back Home BBQ, The Flame BBQ, EF'n Good BBQ, J&J Smokehouse, Keke's Nomadic Creations, and PGH Eatz. Expect live music, a fire demonstration from the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, yard games, and an obstacle course for the kids.
Puppy Plunge — Saturday, September 12
Dog owners, mark your calendars. The Cranberry Township Community Waterpark opens its pool exclusively to pups for two sessions, 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as an end-of-summer sendoff. Every dog needs a current rabies vaccination certificate on hand, owners must wear shoes at all times, and aggressive dogs won't be permitted. It's a fun, low-key way to give your dog one last swim before the weather turns.
September 11 Memorial Event
The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company will pause on September 11 to commemorate, reflect, and honor those lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, held at Park Station.
A Reminder on Trash Pickup
Due to the Labor Day holiday, there was no trash or recycling collection on September 7 — collection shifted one day later for all customers that week. Worth keeping in mind for future holiday weeks too.
Cranberry Highlands Golf Course Stays Busy
If you're a golfer, Cranberry Highlands continues to be a hub of activity this month, with several private and league outings on the calendar throughout September.
