MEET TODAY’S GUEST

Jenny & Matt Stehle

Rooted in Movement is a family-run boutique ballroom dance and wellness studio that opened in early 2026 with a simple but powerful belief: movement isn’t just exercise — it’s a tool for connection, confidence, and well-being.

“We believe movement is medicine. It should feel accessible, joyful, and grounding — not stressful or perfection-driven.”

THE INTERVIEW

A Different Kind of Studio

Rooted in Movement was created to offer something beyond a typical fitness or dance studio. The goal is to provide a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where people of all ages and experience levels can reconnect with their bodies and with others.

“We believe movement is medicine,” the owners shared. “It should feel accessible, joyful, and grounding — not stressful or perfection-driven.”

Classes and Programs

The studio offers a mix of ballroom dance and wellness-focused classes, including:

  • Beginner and advanced ballroom group classes

  • Social dance nights

  • A unique dance fitness class

  • Weekly wedding dance classes for engaged couples

  • “The Midday Reset” and Pilates-inspired strength & stretching classes

They also host fun, high-energy events like Ladies Latin nights.

Who They Serve

Rooted in Movement welcomes adults of all ages and experience levels, especially complete beginners. Many students are couples preparing for their wedding, individuals returning to movement after time away, or anyone simply looking for a supportive community.

What Sets Them Apart

The studio stands out because of its emphasis on how people feel. There’s no pressure to be perfect. Instead, the focus is on creating a warm, judgment-free space where students can laugh, connect, and leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Community Response

Since opening, the response from the Cranberry community has been overwhelmingly positive. Students often arrive nervous but leave smiling and excited to return. The owners especially love watching couples grow closer through their wedding classes and individuals gain confidence through movement.

Favorite Part of Running the Studio

“The people,” they say without hesitation.

Seeing someone let their guard down, try something new, and genuinely enjoy themselves is incredibly rewarding. Those small moments of joy and connection are what make the hard work worthwhile.

Their Guiding Philosophy: “Movement is Medicine.”

It’s more than a tagline — it’s the heart of everything they do. They’ve seen firsthand how even small amounts of intentional movement can improve someone’s energy, mindset, and overall sense of well-being.
